British Columbia’s new anti-racism data act will help fight systemic racism
We need similar legislation in every province to fundamentally change government and community development programs and services in by removing long-standing barriers for the victims of systemic discrimination.

Diversity data is important because it:

  1. Helps organizations understand their current demographics and track progress towards diversity goals.
  2. Highlights any inequalities and biases in hiring, promotion and other processes.
  3. Creates accountability and drives action to address diversity and inclusion issues.
  4. Improves decision-making by bringing different perspectives and experiences to the table.
  5. Enhances the reputation of the organization and appeals to a wider range of customers and employees.
