Jews defining hate against Jews isn’t controversial. Ignoring their lived experience is

Police-reported hate crime data from Statistics Canada shows that Jews remain Canada’s most targeted religious minority and the second-most targeted minority overall. Though less than one percent of the population, Jews were victims of 14 percent of all reported hate crimes in 2021.

Even though not every hate crime can be investigated and prosecuted as a crime, reporting enables us to do so for those that can connect incidences across the country and direct resources to the communities who need them most. We better track patterns to prevent similar incidents. We anticipate that heightened public awareness of hate crimes will start with United for All types of initiatives.
