There is no age in history where human beings have not committed unimaginable excesses against their fellow human beings.
The later generations always come, admit the wrongs, and try to reconcile with historical injustices.
Unfortunately, in every age, ongoing human rights abuses, unfairness and discrimination look pretty normal. The reason is that we glamourize, sugarcoat and even legalize our abuse of power so that ordinary people don’t even come to know about our crimes against humanity – let alone raise concerns or try to correct what happens behind several veils.
My humble hope is that unlike the remains of children in residential schools which we are finding today, we can point out and alleviate the pain and suffering of our fellow human beings in our lifetime.
