This is heartbreaking.

People live in fear like this because some take their implicit bias and hatred to extremes.

It doesn’t mean only one person in Quebec City, one person in London and another in Toronto had such hatred in their heart.

It means these few individuals used deadly means to actualize their hatred. Many others have similar negative feelings for South Asian, black, Muslim, Jewish, indigenous or any other victims of their choice.

Instead of using deadly means, they prefer to use micro-aggression, passive/apparently “legal” means to harm their victims.

For many of us, it’s hard, if not impossible, to imagine the cumulative effect of hate and resultant pain for the targeted communities.

Humanity is not facing this challenge for the first time, but we can do better if we stand united for all in this day and age.
