Tamba-Kuii Bailey,Associate Professor at the University of North Dakota, makes an interesting observation about systemic racism. “You don’t see it,” Bailey says. “We don’t see air. For fish and other things swimming in water, they don’t see water, it’s their environment. So, our environment then is the systemic enforcement of these things [rules or laws that only benefit people in one group while simultaneously doing the opposite for people in other groups.]” No wonder why so many are still in denial of systemic racism (See here).
